IQAir’s Atem Car is an exceptionally powerful, yet quiet and compact car air purifier, designed to deliver clean air to where it matters most – the driver’s and passengers’ breathing zone.
For the effective filtration of harmful particulate matter and adsorption of a myriad of chemical components, the Atem Car is equipped with IQAir’s HyperHEPA Plus filter. This filter provides effective filtration of in-cabin air pollutants by combining different media types, including a HyperHEPA particle filter which filters all types of airborne particulates (incl. PM2.5, allergens, road dust, diesel particles and even bacteria and viruses) and a gas-phase filter which adsorbs a wide range of odours and chemicals.
The Atem Car air purifier is supplied complete with the Atem Car Accessory Kit. The kit includes a special car mount adapter and a 12-24V power adaptor that plugs into any standard car power socket. The crash-tested car mount can be fitted to the rear of the headrest of a seat, allowing the Atem air purifier to be snapped securely into place.
The Atem has been designed in Switzerland and is made exclusively at IQAir’s German production facility.

Outstanding Design Meets High-Performance

Here is an overview of some of the superior features offered by the Atem Car air purifier:
The HyperHEPA Plus Filter
The Atem Car features a high-efficiency HyperHEPA Plus filter with an ID-chip. The C-shaped filter was specifically designed to remove pollutants such as PM2.5, ultrafine particles, allergens, diesel soot and pollen with a minimum efficiency of 99% at 0.003 µm. A special gas-phase filter media also adsorbs a wide range of odours and chemicals.
The Filter ID-Chip
The filter’s integrated ID-chip allows the Atem to monitor the lifespan of the filter. The system keeps track of the actual usage (operation time and fan speed) to compute the remaining lifespan and to maximise filter life. Once the calculated filter life reaches the last 5%, the user is alerted via the app and by a visual and audible signal emitted by the Atem. Upon insertion of the new HyperHEPA filter the Atem recognises it and automatically resets the filter life monitor.
12-24V Car Power Cord
The Atem Car is supplied with a car power adapter that plugs into any 12-24V car, van or truck power socket (i.e. cigarette lighter socket). The power plug also features a USB socket that allows the user to charge mobile devices at the same time.
Automatic Operation
Once plugged in and switched on, the Atem turns on and off automatically with the car’s ignition.
Airflow Adjustment
The Atem offers 3 fan speed settings, each of which can also be individually adjusted and selected via Bluetooth® with the Atem smartphone app. The fan speed can also be selected directly on the unit by gently tapping the Atem logo on the front cover where an invisible touch point is located.
Airflow Indicator LED
An elegant blue LED light strip beneath the air outlet grille provides feedback of the selected airflow setting. Standby mode is indicated by a warm red glow. In addition to the visual feedback, each fan speed adjustment is accompanied by a gentle click or chime. Both brightness of the LED and the sound level can be freely adjusted with the Atem app.
The Atem App
The free Atem App (Apple iOS, Google Play and Android) also provides access to several advanced features including:
– a smart filter life monitor
– fan speed customisation
– LED light and sound customisation
– a child-lock function
Crash-Tested Car Mount
The Atem car was specifically designed to be attached to the headrest of a front seat and fits around 99% of cars on the road today. Alternatively it can be securely attached to the safety belt of a free seat. Once the car mount bracket is fitted, the air purifier can be securely snapped into place. The removal is just as easy and quick with the release buttons on both sides of the car mount. The Atem has been thoroughly safety tested by IQAir’s R & D team at the ADAC crash test facility, Germany’s renowned Automobile Club.

The two boxes are joined in one full-colour inner box which itself is packed in a heavy-duty single shipper outer box. The inner and outer boxes are both labelled with EAN bar codes, serial and article numbers.
*Please note that the Atem Car Accessory Kit is also available as an optional extra, to enable an Atem Desk user to adapt his desktop air purifier for car use. Having a second Atem Car Accessory Kit also allows for easy swapping of one Atem air purifier between two cars.
