An environmentalist at heart Mr Kamal Meattle, FRICS, Chairman Emeritus of Paharpur Business Centre (PBC), is a seasoned real estate entrepreneur Kamal is an Executive Council member of the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) and chairs the committee set up by IGBC to develop standards for wellness; He is also a member of CII Delhi Committee as well as CII National Committee on Environment & Chairman, Northern Region, Indo German Chamber of Commerce. To carry out his passionate work towards environment conservation, Kamal founded NGOs ‘Save the Tree Organization’, ‘Save Two-Wheeler on Polluting Delhi (STOP)’ and ‘Nehru Place Greens Society (NPG)’ and filed several PILs to generate awareness. His contributions have been recognized with awards, several times. Mr Kamal was awarded a LifeTime Achievement award by St. Joseph’s College, North Point, Darjeeling, India and received the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA, Distinguished Alumni Award.

Bernhard Steinruecke

Bernhard Steinruecke has been the Director General of the Indo‐German Chamber of Commerce since 2003.
Born on 29 June 1955 in Frankfurt, he studied Law and Economics in Vienna, Bonn, Geneva and finally at Heidelberg University where he passed the primary state examination in law in 1980 with distinction, and the secondary state examination in law at the Hanseatic High Court in Hamburg. Mr. Steinruecke specialized in tax law and auditing.
His illustrious international career began as a junior legal clerk. He later worked with the former company of what is today PwC ‐ PricewaterhouseCoopers. In 1984 he joined Deutsche Bank AG, initially as a trainee and rose to be the General Manager of Deutsche Bank in Idar‐Oberstein, Colombo and Bombay and Joint Chief Executive Officer ‐ India.
